Here are a couple of different scanlines for you to try. They are quite basic ones. Experiment with squiggles and dots and all kinds of shapes!

Squares

Open Photoshop. Go to File > New and make sure you have the following before clicking OK:
Width: 3px
Height: 3px
Resolution: 72px/inch
Color Mode: RGB Color 8 bit
Background Contents: Transparent

Boxes

Open Photoshop. Go to File > New and make sure you have the following before clicking OK:
Width: 7px
Height: 7px
Resolution: 72px/inch
Color Mode: RGB Color 8 bit
Background Contents: Transparent

Vertical Stripe

Open Photoshop. Go to File > New and make sure you have the following before clicking OK:
Width: 2px
Height: 3px
Resolution: 72px/inch
Color Mode: RGB Color 8 bit
Background Contents: Transparent
